The Write Environment:The Drama Series

Featuring Interviews with Joss Whedon, Damon Lindelof and Tim Kring.

THE WRITE ENVIRONMENT is a compelling new series that takes us backstage into the heretofore unseen world of the writer’s room for an intimate one-on-one interview with some of today’s most prolific writers. As entertaining as it informative, this series will be of value to fledgling writers and seasoned pros alike; as some of the most successful writers reminisce about their careers and discuss their craft.

Joss Whedon “You either have to write or you shouldn’t be writing.”
Writer/Director Joss Whedon is one of Hollywood’s hottest writers, having created one of television’s most critically praised series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as well as its hit spin-off Angel. In this candid interview, this third-generation Emmy and Oscar nominated writer talks openly about the early days of his career, his legion of fans and the trials and tribulations of taking a cult TV series to the big screen.

Damon Lindelof “The cheesy answer is actually sort of the most sincere which is, write for yourself.”
Damon Lindelof is one of Hollywood’s most successful fanboys. Co-creator of the hit series, Lost, he is also one of the producers charged with re-envisioning the Star Trek franchise in a new motion picture featuring the original crew of the Enterprise. In this one-on-one interview, Lindelof discusses the challenges of writing for an ensemble cast, the pressures of keeping a TV series fresh, and the need to please both his fans and himself.

Tim Kring “I’ve always been driven by a tremendous amount of fear as a writer.”
Tim Kring is creator of the TV series Heroes, an epic saga that chronicles the lives of ordinary people who possess extraordinary abilities. During his extraordinary career he has written for such hits as Knight Rider, Chicago Hope, Providence and Crossing Jordan (which he also created). In this interview, Kring looks back at his career and shares some of the lessons he learned about pitching producers, adapting his style to fit an assignment and creating a hit TV series
