Want to Know How the Info Product Mastery System Works?
Well, I sat down with my partner Alice Seba and we outlined every step in the system and created easy to use ‘fill in the blank’ templates for each step in the process. Here’s a quick overview to get you started.
STEP 1: Find Your Niche Market
You want to find a market that you’re interested in, but that also already has passionate buyers. You can do a search for “how to” on sites like Magazines.com to find niche markets where customers are already spending money.
STEP 2: Develop a Good Product Angle
Lets say your target market is Golf. You wouldn’t want to create a product called “How to Play Golf” because that’s too generic and wouldn’t sell well unless you’re Tiger Woods. Instead, you’d want to create a product that is more specific and addresses a specific problem or desire.
For example, you can go to Udemy.com and do a search for Golf. There you will find products ideas and reviews for those products.
Notice how the “Mind Over Golf – Use Your Mind to Lower Your Score” product is a more specific product idea.
STEP 3: Create Your Product
An information product can be in many different formats. Here are just a few ideas for you:
- Screenshare videos
- Talking videos
- Skype Interviews
- Webinars or Google Hangouts
- Checklists or templates
- MP3 audio
- Memberships or groups
You can also bundle these different formats together into a home study course, which gives your product a higher value and can command a higher price. You have many different options, but the main thing is you want to help your customers the best you can. So you need to gather data on how to best help them.
So here’s a tip. You can use Amazon.com and use their “Look Inside” feature of any of their books and that will give you a table of contents that pretty much summarizes and breaks down the product you can create for your own audience.
Now if you don’t want to create the product yourself, you can find writers and content produces on a site like Upwork.com and they’ll do the work for you.
Another option is to use a site like AllPrivateLabelContent.com, which will allow you to buy the rights to content you can label as your own and you can revise it, change it up and sell it as you please. It’s called PLR content or private label rights content and it’s an option for to get your product together quickly.
STEP 4: Set Up Your Sales Process
A lot of people complicated their sales process with large product funnels, but we like to keep it simple.
For instance, our sales process for our site WriterHelpWanted.com had a very simple sales funnel. All we do is provide value in advance to warm people up to our offer. We find out what their problems are and we give them solutions in the form of content.
From there, we give them a really good offer targeting their needs. We already know what they’re interested in, so we just give them a solution at a really good price to trigger those impulse buys. Then once they buy that, we offer them ongoing training for our membership club, in the form of a free trial.
This simple funnel provides value, gets the initial sale and gets recurring income from members who want to keep being part of our group and keep getting content from us.
STEP 5: Set Up Your Follow Up Campaign
This is one of the most critical parts of the whole process that most people overlook. If you look at the diagram below, it will show you that from direct ads, we got 41% of our sales and from our follow up process, we got an additional 59% in sales. Had we stopped at the direct ads without the follow up, we would have deprived ourselves of an additional 59% of our sales that came from our email follow up and retargeting campaign.
STEP 6: Set a Date and Build Anticipation
Now it’s time to set a date for your product release and build up some anticipation for it. This is a key part of the process and it’s where a lot of people make mistakes. A lot of people will just release a product and tell their customers when it’s ready, but you want to create the anticipation ahead of time, so when your product comes out, you have a line of people looking to buy.
We see Apple do this on their product launches and they have people sleeping outside overnight to get their latest product. You want to have the same affect, but you don’t have to have people sleeping outside to get it.
One of the ways you can do this is by using a site like JVNotifyPro.com. Affiliates come here looking for products to promote and you can announce your launch here in advance and get them on board. Then when your product comes out, you’ll have a line up affiliates waiting to promote your product, which guarantees you some sales and success.
STEP 7: Launch Your Product and Let Others Promote
Now it’s time for to launch your product and open it up for other websites and blogs to promote it for you. This is how you get a lot of prequalified and trusting traffic to come to your offer. They are coming to your site, recommended by other websites that they already trust.
One of the things you can do is put your product on a network like ClickBank, for instance, who has 300,000 digital marketers that are there looking for products to promote. And the more sales you make on ClickBank, the more people will be interested in promoting your product through their marketplace.
